Everyday for several weeks I adopted the character of a middle management employee and during regular lunch hours, attempted to fly a metal kite on the corner of 22nd and I street NW in Washington DC. Born out of watching children’s frustration at broken kites during the annual kite festival on the mall, the work deals with making secure decisions or comprimises that never allow us to realize our true dreams. Interestingly as the work progressed, viewers changed from passing me warely to often stopping and watching/cheering, and even assisting with kite launch on several instances.
